It feels really good to have made the majority of my presents this year! It's cheaper than buying big fancy presents, but also seems much more personal. Nothing wrong with buying presents of course, but as I send presents to people throughout the year whenever I feel like it, I tend to get annoyed by the expectation of everyoneneedingpresentsallatonce. Making presents takes most of that annoyance away, and it gets me feeling creative again, which is always a bonus! In just a month, I think I've made up for a very uncreative year. I work well under pressure, haa. I forgot how much I like sewing, and I'm determined to keep that feeling! When I'm at my best, I'lll see something; decide to make it; make it; and tadaa! New dress/jewellery/hat/socks in very little time at all. But at my worst, nothing goes the way I want it, which is what has been happening for most of this year. Oh well, new start this coming year, eh? In many many ways!
Anyhoo, photos in the new year, when everyone's seen their presents. Just in case any of them stumble across this blog, which is unlikely, but you never know. I actually had little handmade presents for a few of you lot too, but I think they will end up being Anytime Presents™ instead. It's more fun that way anyway :P
I had a really disturbing dream about reptilian aliens (probably from watching V: The New Series last night) taking over the earth. It's pretty disjointed, and a lot more to it than what I'll write. The earth had been turned into several gigantic arenas surrounded by high walls, and only a few elite humans survived the aliens' tasks and tests, whose 'prize' was to be sold as slaves rather than killed. There was a lot of fallen rock and stereotypical falling pillars! And a lot of confusion and desperation, obviously. I thought it incredibly clever of the aliens to force humans to wipe themselves out for the 'reward' of slavery rather than death, while they sat back and watched in amusement. The helplessness I felt when thinking of older relatives (who obviously would be the first to go) was horrific though. One of the tests was a racetrack through desert, tundra, forests and other terrain round which humans were pursued by whatever was their greatest fear. Not dying of fright was the objective! I also remember something about having to know a combination of 5 numbers that was individual to oneself, but not having any clues as to what they meant, and therefore no way of knowing where to start looking for them. The alien queen sat in the midst of all the chaos, looking beautiful and smug and eerie (evidently my brain nicked that bit straight out of V: XD) and smiting the occasional human for being rubbish.
It was actually really scary, and now I'm a bit paranoid that that is the reality, and being awake writing in my LJ right now isn't. I've totally confused myself. I have enough doubts about reality as it is, without these dreams unnerving me further!

Hahahaaa!! I just heard Khan's voice! She did a tiny sneeze that sounded like this: "a-pfeff!" I'm sure anyone who has animals will know what I mean by voice.. it's not their bark or meow, but their actual speaking voice. I can hear Toby's voice when he's doing his excited seal impression, and sometimes when he yawns or grumbles. I really should video it someday!

Oh, and OH GOD how beautiful and perfect was the snow on Saturday? It was proper powdery, glittery, silent snow. I can't even begin to describe how it makes me feel! Naturally, the next day I went out for a photoshoot (I was tempted to go that evening, but I don't think I'd be alive!!) and I hope you like these photos, because I got frostbite for these!! Well, frostnip. I couldn't feel two of my fingertips for three days! I'm not completely happy with the photos, but I can't quite work out why. I think it might be that I didn't get many full body shots, as my tripod is broken and all I had was a brittle, snowy twig to balance my camera on! Should've asked for a Gorillapod for Christmas. Damn.
